Hey everyone! First off, I want to wish everyone a HAPPY HOLIDAYS and a wonderful and safe new year:
Woof! Woof! (That means Happy Holidays in Dog)
Ok, it's been an amazing year for me. I had some major life changes happen, some ups and some downs, and some major BLESSINGS! I'd have to say my number one blessing was the fact that God dropped an adorable miniature German Schnauzer, named Jamie into my life! He is my little man, and Mitzy's little brother, and we LOVE him. I've learned a lot about myself and trusting myself and my gut feelings. I think as young children we have these gut instincts and we're made to repress them and "be polite". It's not so nice when Creepy Uncle wants to give us a hug. So, we repress that we think he's creepy and just do it to make our parents happy. After repressing that so many times, you start to not trust yourself, and you have to relearn it. But the bottom line is, something doesn't feel right for a reason, and you have to trust that your mind and body are telling you something really important. I took a big leap in my career and I still am learning and growing to be the best artist I can be and trusting that my art will lead me where I need to go. I hope everyone is where they want to be, and that we all strive forward with our goals in 2009!

Sometimes working in the entertainment industry you have to deal with difficult people. The absolute worst is when you have to deal with someone who is a complete diva, but they are not talented in any way, shape or form. It's one thing if someone is really talented. In that case, it's a little bit excusable because you just assume that there is some level of social incompetance associated with genius. It's even better when you meet someone who is extremely talented but also super down to earth. But the WORST, the absolute WORST is someone who is super high maintenance and NOT talented. I was in a play last year and had to deal with a few of these types. I'm in another play, and guess what? Same thing. It's always the same personality type and I just want to sit them down and be like, "Guess what? You're horrible! So shut up." It's the kind of girl who has had no success yet acts like she knows everything. Don't get me wrong, some people do have a great deal of wisdom, but you can just tell when someone has no idea what they're talking about. So, we had a rehearsal, and this girl shows up about an hour and a half late. We had changed some things since she was not there and we had been rehearsing without her for an hour and half ALREADY. The girl comes in and starts telling people, "No, this is wrong. It should be like this." Ok, biatch, we changed it. You weren't here. To make matters more confusing, there were some people who were new, so they just listened to her. This bothered me to no end. The girls should have stood up, and said, "No, we learned it this way." How can you be an hour and a half late for a two hour rehearsal and then lecture people on how things need to be done. Then, to top it off, of course she was extremely untalented and in addition to that not too attractive. It reminds me of when you watch a bunch of children play together and there's always this bossy little fat girl who makes all of the other kid's lives miserable, and you just think it's a bad kid, and then you meet the kid's mom and she's one of these mediocre looking chicks that thinks she's a 10 out of 10 when she's a 4 at best. Ugh. So annoying. These people are the worst because they are so oblivious to reality and no one wants to say anything to them for some reason. People drive me so nuts sometimes! Anyways, I have to leave soon for my rehearsal, and I don't want to deal with this girl.

Ok, I really need to keep this blog updated. I just realized that a lot of information on this thing is either completely inaccurate or doesn't exist anymore. What's going on right now? I'm extremely busy. I wake up every morning at 8 am and I don't go to bed until 1 or 2 am, and I'm moving the whole time running around or doing something or rushing, and I'm not even guaranteed money at the end of the day like a normal person! Most people work a job and get money. When you're an entertainer, you work for yourself and get paid when...well, when you get paid. I literally hustle my entire day, trying to get auditions, running to auditions, performing at shows (that sometimes pay or don't pay), meanwhile in between all of that, I have to eat food, use the restroom, sleep...you know, something called basic human needs, and then I have to take care of Mitzy and her doggie needs. I really don't understand how people do it. There are not enough hours in the day. This industry is really starting to wear on me. I feel like I work my little Asian butt off constantly. It's so hard to explain to people, too. Like my mom will call me, and I think that she is under the impression that I sit around all day and relax. I am not exaggerating when I say I literally wake up and am running around from the moment I get up. In fact, I'm running late for a show right now, but I had to update my website a little bit, and I realized that my blog is from the beginning of the freakin' year. Ok, not trying to complain. Just feeling really worn down right now. I spent the entire day in the car, trying to get myself home because poor Mitzy needed to be let out and go potty (my dog, in case you're like who is that?) and then I get home and this dumb cop car is blocking my driveway! Ok, gotta get in the shower and get out of here, I have a show in 30 minutes!!!!

I'm not legally allowed to say who moved on to the final round until the show airs this summer, but I wanted to personally thank all of my friends, family, and fans who came out to support me and my performance on NBC's "Last Comic Standing: Season 6". I really appreciate it a lot! Hopefully this will lead to bigger things, and I feel blessed that I've gotten to start 2008 with something really positive.

I can't believe it's 2008! This is so crazy. That means I've been doing comedy...eek! Been doing comedy for WAY TOO LONG without something major happening. So, this is my year, right? Happy New Year to everyone, and I hope the same love comes my way. I may look young, but I'm already a comedy vet! Come on, Tonight Show? Why haven't you called me yet? Anyways, for those of your who didn't know my bday also passed last Friday and I'm feeling old, too! Ok, sending my love to the universe!

Cat, Betsy, and I had prepared a very fun camping trip to Leo Carillo State Park in Malibu for the weekend. We had hiking trails planned, a campfire, smores...everything! I knew that something wasn't right when I saw the flashing signs on the 10 fwy..."Malibu Canyon Closed. Brush Fires." I tried to call my sister's cell phone. (We were taking separate cars. I had dirt dog and camping gear, and her car was packed with some gear, too). She didn't asnwer the phone. I just had that feeling. We stopped at the Von's on PCH to get some more supplies, and I didn't think to mention it, but then we stopped again at McDonald's for some plasticware, and the clouds of smoke were obvious. My sisters were both in denial..."No, it can't be a fire. We're going camping!" Ironically at that very moment a bunch of dirty firefighters came running out of McDonald's! They were covered in soot and looked quite bad. I gave Cat a look. "No, it's just clouds, Rosie!" I knew at that point that our trip was ruined, but my two lovely sisters still would not give in. We drove up PCH. More signs. Five cop cars drove by with their sirens on. Then, a helicopter up ahead. Finally, we pulled up and there were groups of evacuees...and...the road block. The policeman directing traffic was wearing a protective smoke mask. The trip was over. We turned around and headed up the hill...On the side of the road we made lemons out of lemonade! We went to the beach, had a great picnic lunch and went to Temescal Park to go hiking! It wasn't a wasted day...In fact, that night we dressed up and had dinner in Beverly Hills. It was a failed trip turned into a fun day!
Thanks so much for everyone who came to my birthday party! This was one of my best birthdays ever. The last two years have been kind of depressing for the following reasons. Last year, a lot of my friends flaked out and didn't show up and also a lot of my friends claimed they "didn't know" about it, but that's all good. And then the year before THAT, I was in a horrible relationship. So, that sucked, but the Transter 2007 birthday was great. Although one of my Rosie Tran birthday staples was missing.... we all need to have a moment of silence for my favorite deported Canadian, Christina Walkenshaw! :(
Christina I love you and you were in my heart!
I wore a beautiful blue satin baby doll dress that I bought literally the day before. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a full body shot. So, there are no visible pictures of the dress. This means one thing. I can wear the dress again and be photgraphed in it! Lucky, too. I have a short film premiere next Monday at the Skirball Center! Yay! Guys have it easy, they can just wear the same tuxedo or suit. Women try to pull that off, forget about it! Again, thanks for everyone who came! I had a really nice time and can't wait until next year... well, I can wait... I'm getting old! I'm not the 18 year old I used to be when L.A. met me! Ha!
Eddie Pence and wife, Tracy mug for the camera.
Alysia Wood and Dava Krause stopped by for dinner, despite both having comedy sets later that night. Thanks, ladies!
I love Brit-Canadian-Painter-Comic Chicks like Natalie Gray!
